'Bad Boys' actress arrested on suspicion of assault

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Actress Theresa Randle, who played Martin Lawrence's wife in three “Bad Boys” films, was taken into custody in Los Angeles earlier this week on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon but has not been charged. as reported Friday.

Randle was arrested by police Monday for an alleged incident that occurred Saturday at a residence in the 500 block of East Seventh Street in downtown L.A., Los Angeles Police Department Officer Charles Miller said.

Miller said the alleged victim called 911 on Saturday to report that he had been “hit” by Randle, who was not there when officers arrived. On Monday, the alleged victim told police that Randle had returned to the apartment, and officers arrested her and she was charged on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Miller said. No further details were disclosed.

Randle, 59, was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Monday and arrested later that day, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's inmate information website.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has decided to decline to prosecute the case, which has been classified as “DA refuses detention only under 849.5PC (Penal Code).”

Law enforcement sources told TMZ.com that prosecutors dismissed the case when Randle went to trial on Wednesday.

Randle also appeared in “Beverly Hills Cop III” and “Space Jam.”
