Shot Caller's Report: Week 6 Quarterbacks

1) Caleb Williams vs. Jacksonville (London)

The Jaguars' pass defense is one of the worst in the league. They have scored the second-most passing yards (1,494) and the third-most passing touchdowns (10). Meanwhile, Williams has thrown for 300 or more yards in two of the last three games and hasn't thrown an interception since Week 3. Hot player versus cold defense.

2) Daniel Jones vs. Cincinnati

The Bengals' very forgiving defense allows opposing QBs to average 23.4 FPts/G, which is 28th in the league. Jones has had a solid performance away from home in Seattle (24.7 fantasy points) and has hit 20 points in three of his last four games. See if rookie sensation Malik Nabers (concussion) is training for a possible return in Week 6.

3) Jared Goff @ Dallas

Dallas' midfield defense will likely still be without two of their best players, Micah Parsons (ankle sprain) and DeMarcus Lawrence (foot), leaving them vulnerable to poor passing. The Lions can run the ball behind David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs as well as throw the ball with Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta and speedster Jameson Williams. Goff's play-action passing game should work like a charm.

1) Josh Allen @ NY Jets

Allen had a couple of great games early on, but his last two were off. Fewer than 12 points against Baltimore and just 16 points against Houston have his fantasy owners wondering “which is the 'real' Allen” for 2024. The 2023 No. 1 fantasy quarterback had four touchdown passes and four interceptions in two games against the Jets last season. Given his current mindset, I don't expect him to have a big game unless his best winger Khalil Shakir (ankle) returns to the field, but since it's a Monday game, Shakir will have an extra day to recover to improve. The Jets' defense has allowed just two touchdown passes and the second-fewest passing yards (806) through the first five games.

2) Anthony Richardson / Joe Flacco @ Tennessee

The Titans defense has not allowed 210 yards passing in any game this season. They only allowed Aaron Rodgers 176 yards and Caleb Williams 93 yards. If Richardson (obliquely) gets the start or even the experienced Flacco remains the starter, this duel can be avoided. Of the two, Flacco would be a better fit for the Colts receiver position, but I'll probably skip this game entirely.

3) Justin Herbert @ Denver

Herbert has two things against him – a head coach who limits his pass attempts and an elite pass defense in the Broncos' secondary. Denver's defense faced Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, Justin Fields, Aaron Rodgers and Gardner Minshew and allowed just 15.6 FPts/G. Only one of them managed to break 200 yards (Rodgers), and none of them threw more than one touchdown pass. Herbert is averaging just 22.75 passes per game and has yet to break the 200-yard mark. Only the Chargers' running backs are fantasy worthy here.
