Chargers Broncos Week 6 NFL Grades

The Chargers' defense held the Broncos to 88 yards and zero points through three quarters, thanks in large part to a unit that stepped up despite making plays due to injuries.

With a number of standout players for the Bolts, Ben Cooper of Pro Football Focus named outside linebacker Khalil Mack to his team Player of the game after another all-round performance.

Mack finished the game with two tackles, a forced fumble, a pass defended and a quarterback hit.

At this point, it has become commonplace for Mack to change the game in the pass and the run.

Veteran edge defender Khalil Mack managed five quarterback pressures – all hurries – and beat his blocker three more times in the game. However, his biggest impact came in run defense, where he made two stops and forced a fumble.

The Bolts will be back on the road next Monday when they travel to Arizona to take on the Cardinals Monday Night Football.

With most of its starters in the lineup, Los Angeles was able to snap its two-game losing streak and get back over .500. It dominated much of the game – although Denver made a valiant late comeback attempt – on the road against a very capable Broncos defense…

Sunday's win gave a taste of what the Chargers can be when they're healthy and hearty. It could also spark a serious run that could secure LA a solid playoff spot starting in mid-November.

Next up for the Chargers are the Cardinals, Saints, Browns and Titans – teams with a combined six wins and dwindling hopes of reaching the postseason.
