Aaron Rodgers gives the Jets a Hail Mary with a 52-yard TD heave from Allen Lazard

The Ave Maria King struck again in the Meadowlands on Monday evening.

Aaron Rodgers, who has spent much of his 20-year career perfecting the Hail Mary, delivered his first at-bat as the Jets' quarterback at the end of the first half against the Bills.

The Jets had the ball on their own 48-yard line eight seconds before halftime and trailed the Bills 20-10 13 seconds after Buffalo scored a touchdown.

After dancing around in the pocket for a few seconds, Rodgers let the ball fly into the north end zone of MetLife Stadium, and Allen Lazard, Rodgers' former receiver in Green Bay, outran five Buffalo defenders and landed with the ball in the middle of a pile of bodies.

The ball was snatched from his hands by one of the Bills' defensive players, causing the fans in the stadium to freeze for a moment, thinking the ball was incomplete.

But Lazard had secured the ball and ended up on the ground. Then the ball was knocked out of his hands and after 52 yards it was called “touchdown”.

Three players surrounded Lazard as he made his jump – Buffalo cornerbacks Taron Johnson and Christian Benford and safety Taylor Rapp.

Lazard beat them all to the ball.

It was Rodgers' fourth career Hail Mary and it gave the Jets new life as they entered the halftime locker room trailing just 20-17.
