Jets trading for Davante Adams boosts Super Bowl odds

The loss to the Bills on Monday night was a tough slap in the face, but trading for Davante Adams is a nice luxury for a 2-4 outside team hoping to make the playoffs.

After the 23-20 loss, the Jets had +650 odds to win the AFC East, but quickly dropped to +500 odds after acquiring Adams in a significant move in the market.

According to DraftKings, the Jets also dropped from 40/1 to 35/1 and won the Super Bowl.

They now have an 18/1 chance of winning the AFC, up from 20/1, and have a +145 chance of making the playoffs, a small increase from the +155 they had before this blockbuster move.

New York recently fired coach Robert Saleh and has now taken over Adams within seven days. It's absolute chaos under owner Woody Johnson as the Jets go all out for 2024.

Adams could return to the field this weekend as he recovers from a hamstring injury he sustained as a member of the Raiders.

He is expected to form a top receiver combination with Garrett Wilson, while Mike Williams appears to be the odd man out in a quartet of potent offensive weapons.

The Jets are slight 1.5-point favorites in Pittsburgh on “Sunday Night Football” as they face a must-win game facing the prospect of falling to 2-5.

Russell Wilson is expected to start in his season debut for the Steelers on Sunday, although Justin Fields led Pittsburgh to a 4-2 start.
