NFL owners approve Tom Brady's bid to become a limited partner of the Las Vegas Raiders

Seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady has been approved by the NFL as a limited partner of the Las Vegas Raiders, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday.

Brady and his partner now own 10% of the Raiders, while Brady personally owns a 5% stake.

Hall of Famer Richard Seymour, a former teammate of Brady's on the New England Patriots and a former player with the Raiders, also did acquired a small ownership interest.

Tuesday's vote ended a long-running saga surrounding Brady's bid to become owner. In May 2023, it was first reported that Brady was working toward acquiring a minority stake in Raiders.

Brady's efforts to buy part of the Raiders were delayed in part by questions about the valuation of the percentage to be sold to him and Brady's role as a FOX Sports broadcaster.

The NFL imposed restrictions on Brady's broadcasting access in August due to his possible involvement with the Raiders.

Brady is not permitted to participate in in-person or online production meetings and may not have access to team facilities, players or coaches. These restrictions do not apply to FOX employees.

He also must abide by the league's bylaws and bylaws, which prohibit public criticism of officials and other clubs, but is allowed to broadcast Raiders games.

Brady, who retired from the NFL after the 2022 season, works with play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt on FOX's top NFL broadcast team. He signed a 10-year deal with the broadcaster in 2022, but this is Brady's first season announcing games.
