Ronaldo was held goalless as Portugal's perfect Nations League record ended with a draw against Scotland

MADRID (AP) — Cristiano Ronaldo was held scoreless and Portugal lost its perfect Nations League record after a 0-0 draw in Scotland on Tuesday.

Portugal had won their first three games in the competition but were unable to prevail against the Scots at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

Ronaldo, who scored 133 international goals, had some good chances to break the stalemate. After the game ended, he seemed annoyed with the referee and left the field to sarcastic applause, waving his arms and giving thumbs down.

Portugal had beaten Croatia, Scotland and Poland in Group A1 and still leads the group with 10 points, three more than Croatia and six more than Poland.

Scotland, in last place, remained at one point. It entered the game on a nine-game winning streak and had lost four straight games.

The top two nations in each group advance to the knockout rounds.

Spain wins third place in a row

Álvaro Morata scored about 10 minutes after a missed penalty as Spain comfortably beat Serbia 3-0 for their third consecutive Nations League win.

Morata sent his penalty over the crossbar in the 54th minute and then scored Spain's second goal in the 65th minute at the Nuevo Arcangel Stadium in Cordoba.

Five minutes into the game, Aymeric Laporte had scored the first goal for Spain, the defending champions, who began with a 0-0 draw against Serbia and then beat Switzerland and Denmark in Group A4.

Spain leads the group with 10 points, three more than Denmark, which held last place Switzerland to a 2-2 draw.

Serbia finished third with four points from the draw against Spain and a win over Switzerland, who remain winless.

Serbia played a man down from the 76th minute after Strahinja Pavlovic was sent off for a tackle on an opponent. Álex Baena scored Spain's third goal with the resulting free kick.

Croatia scored three goals in the first 26 minutes of the first half against Poland for a total of five goals.

The Croatians led 3-2 before half-time in a game that ended in a 3-3 draw in Group A1 in Poland.
