Houston Rockets vs. New Orleans Pelicans

The Houston Rockets will play their third preseason game on Tuesday as they play two home games in three days before the start of the regular season. First they host the New Orleans Pelicans before the San Antonio Spurs head south for a duel.

The Rockets played two preseason contests before taking a six-day break. They tied these two contests 1-1. With only two preseason games left before the regular season, it will be interesting to see how well the team's regular players and core figures play.

The Pelicans also split their first two preseason games, so the two clubs were level heading into the friendly.

Brandon Ingram will hit the hardwood for the first time of the new season. He should breathe new life into the Pelicans' offense after a rough start in the first two preseason games.

Rockets head coach Ime Udoka indicated that he would test more regular season-style rotations, although the team would err on the side of caution in terms of minutes played. Expect a near full house for Houston, even though the team hasn't announced status yet.

With the matchup looming, the Rockets are ahead by 2.5 points. The spread for competition is tight, and it should be that way. Rotation is an important wildcard for both teams – as it is for most teams during pre-season.
