What LeBron James said when asked about Steph Curry's potential NBA connection – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

NBA superstar LeBron James gave an interesting answer when asked if he would ever work with Steph Curry again.

After a Los Angeles Lakers practice on Monday, James spoke to the media about his time with Curry on Team USA at the Paris Olympics and whether he would ever be teammates with him again… in the NBA.

“I have no idea,” James told reporters (with ESPN’s Dave McMenamin).

After many years as rivals in the NBA, Curry and James got to play on the same team for the first time and help their country win the gold medal over the summer. The experience didn't go unnoticed by James, who enjoyed his Olympic experience with Curry.

“It was everything and more,” James said. “I was super excited to finally be able to work with him in a win-or-die atmosphere. This was what it was like to be part of the Olympics. Being part of this team with Steph was everything I dreamed and hoped for. Great memories. Something I will definitely remember from my basketball career for the rest of my life.”

This wasn't the first time the idea of pairing the two superstars was discussed, as the Warriors inquired about the possibility of a trade for James last season. While James and his agent Rich Paul have repeatedly rejected the idea of James moving north to San Francisco, it is clear that his admiration for Curry and Golden State runs deep.

So far, Los Angeles has honored all of James' wishes, including selecting his son in the 2024 NBA Draft for the first father-son pairing in NBA history. Still, the idea of bringing Curry and James together will remain, given their mutual admiration and the Lakers' inconsistent performances in recent seasons.

For now, Warriors fans can still dream of James and Curry breaking through opposing defenses at Chase Center.
