Tyra Banks owned the runway during the final moments of the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which came nearly 20 years after her last appearance at the event.

The 50-year-old supermodel proved she's still got it at the show on Tuesday, October 15, in New York City. To close the show, Banks appeared under the stage rocking sparkly gray leggings paired with a silver bodice ensemble. The look was completed with a matching metallic cape.

As Banks strutted down the runway, her cape blew in the wind. After reaching the end of the runway, the supermodel twirled the cape in a stunning fashion. As the show came to a close, Banks was joined on stage by her Victoria's Secret costars.

Victoria's Secret announced in August that Banks would be joining the fashion show's modeling roster Gigi Hadid have come together to confirm the return of the event after a six-year hiatus. In an Instagram video at the time, Banks handed Hadid, 29, an invitation to the show, adding, “See you there.” Hadid then mouthed, “I love you,” as she walked away.

Banks then reflected on her last runway appearance at Victoria's Secret. “My last walk was in this red outfit and I had these medals all around my waist,” she remembers. “I had super long hair, insanely long eyelashes and this scepter with 'V' written on it in my hand, and when I got to the end of the runway I kissed it and then I picked it up and started pumping, pumping and in my hand In my head I thought, “I’m out.” But you pulled me back in.”

Banks' return isn't the only reason the 2024 fashion show made headlines. This year marked the first time the previously annual event has taken place since 2018. It was canceled in 2019 after the brand was criticized for a lack of inclusivity. The company has since rebranded, and Banks joined the effort when the VS Collective — a more diverse group of speakers that replaced the Angels — was launched in 2021.

“First is hard. Firstly, it's lonely. But first it is necessary. First is crucial so that a door can be opened for others to fit in,” Banks wrote via Instagram in June 2021. “Within ten years, starting in 1995, I was the first ever Black @VictoriasSecret contract model.” The first Black Victoria's Secret cover model. The first Black VS model that did so many other groundbreaking things with the brand – and other brands. But there is more to come after the first. A river of miscellaneous things. A river of something unique. A river so strong, a river of so many, that we lose track.”

She concluded: “I retired from the catwalk 16 years ago – and I am proud to be witnessing a beauty revolution in my life. To the new collective of badass ROLE models: I may have pushed the door open, but you're all storming through. Keep going until we all lose count of how many break through behind you.”
