After seeing above-average temperatures every day so far in October, Wednesday's forecast high temperatures will be well below the average high of 79 degrees.

On Wednesday morning, temperatures dropped into the 40s and 50s and with wind gusts near 35 mph, the change of fall was in the air.

As of 9 a.m., temperatures across the metroplex were nearly 15 degrees colder than they were at the same time Tuesday. Some parts of North Texas were even more than 21 degrees colder.

Winds will die down later on Wednesday, and with glorious sunshine forecast, humidity low and highs only in the 60s, Wednesday is a day to be outside.

The cold air continues to slide southwest as the upper high moves through the Midwest, meaning it will get even colder Wednesday evening with clear skies and light winds.

Gradual warming is underway as the upper high moves further east and southeast.

With the majority of the moisture located primarily west of North Texas, the chance of rain will remain minimal to none during this forecast period. There is a very small chance that there could be some rain across northwest North Texas Sunday night into Monday.

This beautiful fall air will be short-lived as we see a pattern develop on the upper level that will warm us back into the 90s next week.
