Two people were killed and one was seriously injured in a crash on I-95 in Greenland, New Hampshire

GREENLAND – Two drivers died and have been identified in a crash on Interstate 95 in Greenland Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Just before 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, a two-vehicle collision was reported to New Hampshire State Police. When police arrived, they found two people dead and a third person was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, state police said late Wednesday afternoon.

Steve Le, a 24-year-old resident of Methuen, Massachusetts, and Leslie Lynn, 58, of Roanoke, Virginia, have been identified as victims in the crash, which remains under investigation by state police.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2023 Toyota Camry, driven by Le, was traveling north when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median into oncoming traffic and struck a 2019 Ford Econoline, driven by Lynn, said the state police with. Responding officers have not yet been able to determine what caused Le to drive into the southbound lane.

“As a result of the collision, the 2019 Econoline crossed the median from the southbound lanes to the northbound lanes before stopping at the tree line,” state police said in a news release.

Le and Lynn were both pronounced dead at the scene. According to state police, another person in the Ford Econoline was taken to an undisclosed nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The fatal accident and subsequent investigation resulted in major traffic jams, with debris strewn across the highway. The northbound and southbound lanes remained closed by state police as of 4:30 p.m. and traffic was diverted off the highway via Exit 3, state police said.

According to state police, the accident occurred near mile marker 9.2. The investigation along Interstate 95 is still ongoing.

Members of the New Hampshire State Police Troop A team were assisted by the agency's Collision Analysis & Reconstruction (CAR) Unit, the Portsmouth Police Department, the Greenland Fire and Police Department, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation and the New England Truck Center.
