The IL Lotto player has just two weeks left to secure a 0,000 prize

CHICAGO – An unclaimed Lucky Day Lotto could become an unlucky day if the owner of an unclaimed $250,000 prize from a year ago doesn't come forward.

The Illinois Lottery is seeking the owner of the unclaimed prize purchased in Chicago on October 29, 2023. The lucky winner has less than two weeks to claim their prize.

The ticket was purchased at Fairplay Finer Foods, 2200 S. Western Ave., Chicago. Lottery officials are advising Lucky Day Lotto players to search every corner of their homes for the missing ticket.

“If you think you bought a Lucky Day lottery ticket for the October 29 draw last year, now is the time to look under your couch cushions, in old coat packages or other places where a year-old lottery ticket may be hiding could be. state lottery officials said in a news release.

Winners will have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize. So the expiry date for claiming this prize is fast approaching.

This unclaimed Lucky Day Lotto ticket is one of seven currently unclaimed Illinois Lottery prizes, all totaling nearly $4.5 million, including:

Prizes for winning lottery tickets can be redeemed in four ways:

  • Most prizes under $600 can be cashed out at a mall.
  • Winnings over $600 to $10,000 must be claimed at a claim center, by mail, or by e-claim.
  • Winnings over $10,000 must be claimed at a claim center or by mail.
  • If you plan to claim your award at a Claim Center, you must first make an appointment: 69 W. Washington St., Suite LL06 or 9511 Harrison St., Des Plaines.
