On Wednesday it will be warm and hazy, with a few showers possible

Today's forecast:
High pressure continues to dominate our weather today, with highs once again around 10-15 above average. At times hazy skies will continue to be due to major wildfires in Wyoming and Idaho, with smoke worst over the eastern plains.

Similar to yesterday, a weak disturbance moving across the state this afternoon will bring increasing clouds as well as some isolated showers, according to our forecast. These showers will form after midday in the mountains where most of the rain will remain, with only about a 10% chance of a shower today in Colorado Springs and along the I-25 corridor.

Forecast for Colorado Springs: High: 80; Low: 48. The Pikes Peak region will be warm again locally today, with early sunshine giving way to increasing clouds this afternoon and a slight chance of a heavy shower.

Pueblo Forecast: High: 85; Low: 45. Mid-80s on Wednesday for the Steel City, with hazy sunshine early this afternoon giving way to partly to mostly cloudy skies this afternoon.

Canon City forecast: High: 82; Low: 50. No sign of fall or anything major in our forecast today, other than a slight chance of a light shower this afternoon over eastern Fremont County.

Woodland Park Forecast: High: 71; Low: 39. Clear skies this morning will give way to mostly cloudy skies this afternoon and there is a chance for a few showers in Teller County, including snow at the summit of Pikes Peak.

Tri Lakes Forecast: High: 70s; Low: 40s. Warm, with hazy sunshine early on, possibly giving way to a few spotty showers along and near the Palmer Divide this afternoon.

Plains forecast: High: 80s; Low: 40s/50s. Areas of smoke and haze as well as unseasonably warm temperatures this afternoon across the High Plains as some areas could flirt with the 90s.

Forecast for Walsenburg and Trinidad: High: 70s/80s; Low: 40s. Where is fall, you may be asking yourself lately? Unfortunately, with highs back in the upper 70s and lower 80s today, you'll have to wait at least a few more days for cooler weather.

Mountain Forecast: High: 50s/60s; Low: 30s. Early sunshine will give way to a few showers and higher elevation snow showers in the mountains this afternoon. The best chance of rain turning into snow is in areas above 11,000 to 12,000 feet.

Advanced Forecast Forecast:
Not much is changing for Southern Colorado late this week, as the heat was near record-breaking on Thursday, giving way to slightly cooler highs on Friday. After today, no rain or snow is expected across the state later this week.

This weekend starts out in the springs with warm temperatures in the low 80s before a cold front arrives on Sunday and our high temperatures drop to near 70 degrees. Cooler 60s will follow as daytime highs early next week, while overnight lows will cool to the 30s. For parts of Colorado Springs and the High Plains, the first frost of the season will be possible as early as next week.
