Angel Reese reveals ,000 rent while laughing about WNBA salary

Angel Reese got honest about her finances, joking that she's “living beyond my means.”

In a recent Instagram Live video, the Chicago Sky forward said her WNBA salary doesn't cover her rent, which is $8,000 per month.

Reese is from Maryland and has an apartment in Chicago. It is unclear whether she has other residences.

“I hate paying them bills, baby. I just hope you all know that the WNBA doesn't pay my bills at all. I don’t even think that’s going to pay any of my bills,” Reese said.

“Literally, I'm trying to think about my rent for the place I live. Let me do the math real quick… I don't even know my salary – 74 (thousand)?” She asked someone to the side who was not in the video.

Reese, who shot the video in New York on Tuesday for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, was shocked at the result after running the numbers.

“I live beyond my means!” she said and laughed hysterically. “Syke!”

That's when she said her rent was $8,000.

“I live beyond my means, like you all think,” she joked.

Reese, who was selected by the Sky with the No. 7 pick out of LSU in this year's WNBA draft, earned $73,439 in her first season.

Under the WNBA's current collective bargaining agreement, she is expected to make $74,909 next season.

This does not include Reese's income from endorsement deals, brand partnerships and ventures outside of the WNBA.

Reese has also signed a contract for the newly formed Unrivaled 3×3 league starting January 17th and has just received a broadcast deal with TNT.

Reese was the first athlete to sign with Reebok's NIL squad in October 2023.

She became a top NIL earner after leading LSU to the NCAA title that year.

Her endorsement deals include Reese's, Beats by Dre, Coach, ZOA Energy Drink, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and Raising Cane's. She also has a clothing line at Dick's Sporting Goods.

Reese, who is open about her love of designer fashion and bags, announced that she is declaring for the 2024 WNBA draft in a photo shoot in Vogue.
