Richard Sherman tore the Saints apart during the blowout loss to the Broncos

The New Orleans Saints were taken to the cleaners by the Denver Broncos on Thursday night. In Sean Payton's return to the Superdome, the Spencer Rattler-led Saints offered no resistance as the visiting team cruised to a 33-10 victory. The loss dropped the Saints to 2-4 and marked the team's fourth straight loss after a hot 2-0 start.

To make matters worse, it was clear from the start that the Saints had not shown up to play. At least that's how it seemed to Richard Sherman, the longtime NFL cornerback who works as a retired analyst for Amazon Prime. At halftime, with the Saints down 16-3, Sherman tore New Orleans to pieces, saying that the performance he was seeing on the field was so bad that the only explanation was that the Saints players were trying to Firing head coach Dennis Allen.

“I'm confused. I'm upset. I'm at a loss. I don’t get it,” Sherman yelled over the noise of the halftime show behind him (apparently no lessons were learned from the 2022 CBS Arrowhead debacle). . “They don’t want to attack. They don’t want to make plays. These are good players. Tyrann Mathieu is a good player. Easiest interception of his life, sending him 36th (of his career) and he falls. “I see the guys not making the effort to get to the ball carrier and make tackles.

“It seems like they want their coach fired. That's the effort they play with. And Dennis Allen! You're calling a timeout so we can watch your quarterback go to his knees? Do you want to torture these fans? That’s what they do.” will be waiting at his car after the game.

Sherman was never afraid to speak his mind during his playing days, and that trait clearly carried over into his post-playing career. What a rant.

The situation did not improve either. Sherman certainly didn't think so either. The Saints managed just one touchdown in garbage time in the second half and lost by 23.

New Orleans has over a week to prepare for a Week 8 game with the Los Angeles Chargers. As it stands tonight, a lot will have to change if the roster is to stay afloat while starting quarterback Derek Carr recovers from an oblique injury.
