Pakistan aim for their first home Test win since 2021 as the spinners dismantle England's top order

Pakistan are on the verge of breaking their home Test losing streak as they consolidate their lead in the three-match series on the fourth day of the second Test against England.

In the opening session of England's second innings, spinners Sajid Khan and Noman Ali dismantled the visitors' top and middle order. Chasing 297 for victory, England faltered, losing seven wickets for 125 runs as Sajid and Noman took advantage of the shooting conditions.

As Pakistan seek their first home Test win in almost three years, the hosts appear to be firmly in control and are nearing an end to their winless drought.

Noman Ali was the pick of the bowlers, picking up five wickets.

Sajid has already taken two wickets, dismissing Ben Duckett for a duck in the first over and later picking up Ollie Pope for 21.

Sajid was a standout performer in England's first innings with figures of 7 for 111, which he scored in the first over of the chase.

Duckett, who had been England's centurion in the first innings, was caught trying to sweep the ball straight up with the top edge. Zak Crawley followed shortly after, surprised by a sharp shot from Noman, leaving England 11 for 2.

Sajid then dealt another blow by dismissing Ollie Pope, reducing England to 37 for 3.

England still need 250 runs to win, with captain Ben Stokes, wicketkeeper Jamie Smith and the lower half still to bat.

Pakistan, on the other hand, are aiming for their first home win since 2021, with Sajid playing a crucial role in both innings.

Earlier, Pakistan scored 366 in their first innings, with contributions from Salman Agha (63) and lower-order runs from Sajid himself. England managed 291 in response, thanks largely to Duckett's 114 before Sajid struck the ball.

The turning point for Pakistan came on the third day when Sajid's 7-wicket haul helped give the hosts a 75-run lead.

He was supported by Noman Ali, who also played a key role with two wickets in that innings, keeping England's top order under constant pressure.

With the Multan pitch continuing to turn heads, Pakistan are in a great position to see the game through and end a winning streak at home that dates back to 2021.

England's hopes now rest in the middle order but the spin-friendly conditions and Pakistan's tireless bowling will make it a tough battle in the coming sessions.
