Fall weather is finally coming to Las Vegas | Weather in Las Vegas

Wind gusts of nearly 60 mph were felt in the Las Vegas Valley early Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

While Harry Reid International Airport experienced a gust of 44 mph around 8:30 a.m., North Las Vegas Airport recorded a gust of 59 mph at 2:15 a.m

Red Rock National Recreation Area was experiencing frequent gusts of more than 50 mph as of 9 a.m.

The second round of the Shriner's Open was postponed due to windy conditions.

Windy conditions and dropping temperatures made for a chilly Friday morning across much of Southern Nevada and other areas.

Temperatures were around 25 to 30 degrees lower than 24 hours ago.

The weather service issued a wind warning for the area until 11 p.m. Friday.

Patchy winds and blowing dust are forecast for the Las Vegas area before 2 p.m. on Friday. The high is expected to reach 72, but winds of 18 to 24 mph could reach up to 39 mph, the National Weather Service says.

Overnight lows around 61 are forecast for Friday night, with north-northwest winds of 14-18 mph and gusts as high as 25 mph.

North of the Las Vegas Valley, a wind advisory calls for northwest winds of 25-35 mph and possible gusts of up to 50 mph. It runs through 11 p.m. Friday for Indian Springs, Amargosa Valley, Furnace Creek, Bristlecone Pine, Shoshone, Pahrump, Stovepipe Wells, Westgard Pass and Desert Rock, the weather service said. Gusty winds could make travel difficult.

It was expected to reach a high of around 75 in Las Vegas on Saturday. North-northwest winds 8-18 mph becoming northeasterly in the afternoon. Wind gusts can reach up to 30 miles per hour.

Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high near 77.

A wind advisory is in effect for Lincoln County until 11 p.m. Friday. Northerly winds of 20-30 mph could gust up to 45 mph and temperatures up to 28 mph are possible. A frost warning is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday.
