ForbesToday's NYT “Connections” tips and answers for Friday, October 18th

I hope your weekend starts off well! I just received a projector and Chromecast that I ordered for my bedroom. So once I get everything set up, I retire to bed to watch a movie night. (I'll make the most of the warmer weather over the next few days, I promise.)

Today NYT Connections Hints and answers are coming soon.

How to play connections

Connections is a free, popular one New York Times daily pun. You will receive a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play on that NYT Website or gaming app.

You will be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to divide them into four groups of four by figuring out the connections between them. The groups can be items you can click on, names of research participants, or words preceded by a body part.

Each puzzle has only one solution and you need to be careful when it comes to words that could fit into more than one category. You can mix up the words to perhaps better see the connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to understand, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often contains puns.

Select four words that you think go together and click Send. If you guess and are wrong, you lose a life. When you're close to finding the right group, you may see a message saying you're one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which word to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let's make sure that this doesn't happen with the help of some tips, and if you really find it difficult, even with today's ones Connections Answer. Like with Wordle and other similar games, it's easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

This is your final warning!

That's three perfect games in a row and overall wins. This is what happened to me:

Boooo, I was so close to getting what I consider to be a truly perfect game where I put the groups in the correct order from hardest to most difficult without any mistakes.

The purple group immediately caught my eye. I realize that not everyone is a gamer, but I felt like bringing Nintendo into the game would have made it a hair too easy.

It took me a minute to familiarize myself with the grid and see if I could get a truly perfect game. I took a second to see what went with WASP, NETTLE and JELLYFISH and giggled when I realized it had to be insult.

I assumed that a group that focused on concepts rather than physical objects would be the greens, but unfortunately there is no truly perfect game today. The yellows, then the greens gave me a threesome.

That's all for today Connections Hints and answers. Be sure to check out my blog for tips and the solution for Sunday's game if you need them.

PS: I had actually considered this as my final recommendation before playing today's lineup, so it feels like kismet. I played the wonderful, the devastating Neva this week. It's an absolutely great game about the passage of time and the need to act to protect the environment. You can read more of my thoughts (and get a few more indie game recommendations) and watch the trailer below. Neva is definitely worth a few hours this weekend:
