The New York Post saw Sebastian Maniscalco at MSG: Get your tickets

Sebastian Maniscalco just finished his five-day run at Madison Square Garden as part of his ongoing “It Ain't Right” tour – and we already miss him.

For me as a true fan (and true Italian), seeing Sebastian live in New York's best entertainment center was an absolute must. Fortunately, the clever comedian lived up to my incredibly high expectations.

“When I'm back in New York, I feel like I'm with 17,000 of my friends,” Maniscalco said to the sold-out stadium at the end of his Sept. 19 performance, which I attended. “Whether it's because of the way we grew up or not, there's something special about New York.”

Staying true to itself, “It Ain't Right” examines what's currently going on in society – and in Maniscalco's life – including paying $70 for parking and living through each decade of life. No matter who you are, you're guaranteed to laugh as the 53-year-old dissects what irritates him.

But let’s start at the beginning.

Review of Sebastian Maniscalco's comedy show

Special guest comedians Pat McGann and Pete Correale got the ball rolling before Maniscalco headlined.

“McGann and Correale are my opening acts, but they are also full-fledged artists in their own right,” Maniscalco told the New York Post exclusively when he announced he was extending his tour through 2025.

That is Right.

After the final punchline of Correale's performance, the evening's headliner strode onto the stage, clad in his half Mets, half Yankees bomber jacket that perfectly exuded the aesthetic of the Big Apple.

He got going quickly and delivered his usual humorous, quick-witted performance with a slow delivery and stage movements that gave him an exceptionally lively performance. The audience was naturally delighted.

Additionally, Maniscalco told The Post that he is “enjoying the tour more” this time around. For one, his wife and children are joining him for certain parts of the tour and he is performing on a triangular stage to interact more with the audience.

Compared to his previous specials, 'It Ain't Right' somehow feels more tangible. Sure, his material is universal, but what sets this one apart from Maniscalco's previous work is the way he talks to the audience during the show. This improvisational element was a refreshing change from the standard stand-up shows where comedians deliver perfected routines, and made the 17,000-plus-seat arena seem more like a Sunday dinner than The Garden where the Knicks and Rangers play.

Regardless of where you see Maniscalco in 2024 or 2025, you can expect the unexpected. The night before I visited, Jerry Seinfeld made a performance that *everyone* loved. Who knows? Maybe one of your favorite comedians will stop by the show you're attending.

No matter who is performing, you always get Sebastian and in our opinion that is more than worth the price of admission.

Final verdict: Maniscalco shined on one of his best tours to date. Deliciously entertaining and remarkable in every sense of the word, the unique headliner proves once again that he is one of the best in the business. Don't miss him when he plays near you.
