The Premier League result: Heung-Min Son, Yves Bissouma, Dejan Kulusevski and an own goal from Jean-Clair Todibo cancel out Mohammed Kudus' opening goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

SON STRIKES ON HIS RETURN AS SPURS LEAVE BRIGHTON LOSS BEHIND

Son Heung-Min returned with a bang as Tottenham produced a swashbuckling second-half performance to beat 10-man West Ham 4-1 in a thrilling London derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The home side dominated most of the first half but fell behind after 18 minutes when Mohammed Kudus converted Jarrod Bowen's cutback.

Tottenham kept trying and deservedly equalized before half-time when Dejan Kulusevski's shot hit both posts before crossing the line.

Ange Postecoglou's men turned on the afterburners after the break with Yves Bissouma and an own goal from Jean-Clair Todibo putting them ahead by two goals in five minutes.

Son then took the game beyond the visitors on the hour mark when he marked his first appearance in a three-game absence following a hamstring injury with a quick run and finish.

West Ham's misery got worse late on when the VAR recommended an on-field review, which resulted in Kudus receiving a straight red card for his role in an unsightly incident involving both pairs of players.

The result means Tottenham move up to sixth, five points clear of the top, with the rest of the weekend still to come.

West Ham are five points further back in 14th place.

Tottenham next host AZ in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday before hosting Crystal Palace on Sunday. West Ham is at home against Manchester United.
