Olivari and Curry later shared positive exchanges on Instagram, including a photo of a younger Olivari wearing Curry's jersey:

In both teams' final preseason game, Golden State won 132-74, giving the Dubs a perfect preseason record of 6-0.

Olivari, who is 23, was 8 years old when Curry made his NBA debut in 2009, and he grew up watching Curry develop into arguably the best shooter in NBA history.

In addition to being the NBA's all-time leader in field goals made with 3,747, Curry is also a ten-time All-Star, four-time NBA champion, two-time NBA MVP and one-time NBA Finals MVP.

Olivari spent four seasons at Rice before transferring to Xavier, and as a senior he had his best collegiate season, averaging 19.1 points and 5.6 rebounds.

Still, Olivari went undrafted, but the Lakers signed him to an Appendix 10 contract, meaning they can assign him to their G League team if he's off the roster.

According to McMenamin, Olivari made it clear after Friday's game that his dream is to play in the NBA, saying:

“I just want a job in the NBA. It's the only thing I've wanted since I was five years old, and my dad always said my greatest gift was my energy. Energy can never be created or destroyed, only transferred.” . So I bring energy to every team that needs me and I move every group forward.”

While Curry was ruled out of Friday's game and Olivari didn't have the opportunity to face him, the rookie made the most of his opportunity.

With 22 points on 8 of 16 shots as well as seven rebounds and two assists, he led all scorers and made a strong final impression.

Although all signs point to Olivari starting the season in the G League, as the Lakers would have to waive a player to make room for him on the active roster, there may be a chance he could be in the G League by the time the Lakers meet The Warriors' roster will be called for the first time during the regular season on Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. ET.
