BYU faces Utah in rivalry game Monday night – BYU Athletics – Official Athletics Site

PROVO, Utah – The BYU women’s soccer team will face its Utah State rival on Monday night at South Field.

The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. MT and will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

LAST TIME ON THE FIELD. The Cougars faced the Horned Frogs on Thursday, September 19, in Fort Worth, Texas. TCU defeated BYU 4-1 in conference play.

BYU vs Utah

THE PUMAS. BYU (3-4-2, 1-1 Big 12) faced TCU on Thursday night, losing to the Horned Frogs 4-1, which was its first Big 12 loss of the season. Allie Fryer scored BYU's only goal of the game, her third of the season. Freshman Presley Freeman added the assist, the first of her career. Four Cougars made their first appearances during the game: Kelsey Hoopes, Mia Curry and Savannah Hansen.

THE UTES. Utah (4-3-2, 1-1 Big 12) faced Texas Tech on Thursday night, losing 2-0 to the Red Raiders at the John Watkins Soccer Complex in Lubbock, Texas. Texas Tech had 14 more shots on goal than Utah and had four corner kicks to Utah's one. The goals came in a three-minute span between the 70th and 73rd minutes. This was Utah's first loss in the Big 12 as a newcomer to the conference.

COUGARS VS. UTES. The Cougars and Utes have faced each other 35 times, with BYU leading the overall series 25-7-3. The last time the two teams met was on September 9, 2023, when the Cougars defeated the Utes 6-1 at Ute Field in Salt Lake City, Utah. BYU scored two braces in that matchup, one by former defender Olivia Smith-Griffitts and one by current forward Allie Fryer.
