Alec Baldwin returns to SNL as Bret Baier in Fox News VP interview

“I'm doing an interview here with an openly hostile network and Donald Trump has canceled all of his interviews,” the SNL vice president later added of the ex-POTUS.

Even though Trump reportedly canceled CBS and NBC interviews, the self-declared exhausted candidate had time Friday to return to his former safe space on Fox & Friends. Trump demanded that the Rupert Murdoch channel stop broadcasting negative commercials against him or bringing in mildly progressive critics until after Election Day. Then the 78-year-old Trump said the quiet thing way too loudly, boasting to the friendly Friends hosts that he would be meeting with the 93-year-old Murdoch himself right after the on-air appearance.

But until Palmer's organs became an issue on the campaign trail, nothing last week had the comedic appeal of Trump's Oct. 14 town hall in Oaks, Pennsylvania, with sycophantic South Dakota Gov. Kristi L. Noem, where the former president died Softball pulled the plug asking if he should dance and conduct to the tunes of his MAGA playlist for 39 minutes. The extremely strange incident occurred after repeated medical emergencies occurred in the audience. Suddenly Trump announced: “Let’s just listen to music… Who the hell wants to hear questions, right?”

No wonder that last week and today in Georgia, Harris called Trump even more “unstable” than usual and mocked his exhaustion in certain interviews. No wonder Trump's team is trying these last days to persuade Nikki Haley to join him in the campaign.

After taking a break for a few weeks tonight, SNL will no doubt have an equally rich take on this tight and crazy race when it returns on November 2nd. Former SNL writer John Mulaney will then join the show as host and chart-topper for the sixth time, with sometimes politically refreshing wildcard Chappel Roan as musical guest.

It's not yet known whether Minnesota Vice President or Lt. Governor Tim Walz will add an SNL cameo to their wide-ranging media campaign, but there's still some time on the schedule. As for Trump, who hosted the show during the 2016 election and was heavily criticized by just about every critic, and his running mate from Ohio, Sen. JD Vance… I'm not entirely sure SNL is really on their dance card this time.
