Ngannou (17-3) returns to MMA for the first time since defending his UFC heavyweight championship with a gutsy five-round decision over Ciryl Gane in January 2022. Still considered the lineal MMA heavyweight champion, Ngannou shocked the sports world in 2023 when he defended the UFC heavyweight championship and signed with PFL instead. Between these stops he made two cameo appearances in professional boxing, first pushing Tyson Fury to his limits in a now infamous fight and then losing by knockout to Anthony Joshua. Ngannou is widely considered one of the hardest punchers in MMA history.

Ferreira (13-3, 3 NC) is capitalizing on the biggest opportunity of his career after defeating Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader in 21 seconds last February. Previously, Ferreira announced his entry into the heavyweight scene with three knockouts against Matheus Scheffel, Maurice Greene and Denis Goltsov, which crowned him heavyweight champion of the 2023 PFL season and earned the Brazilian a $1 million grand prize.
