BC election results: Live numbers from the 2024 vote

More than two million British Columbians voted in the 2024 provincial election.

This election was just as close as pollsters had predicted, and the outcome was on a knife's edge late Saturday night as the final results had not yet been announced.

Voters will elect 93 members of the Legislative Assembly for the 43rd Parliament.

To form a majority government, a party needs 47 seats.

BC Election 2024

Many voters saw changes in their behavior for the 2024 election.

After the 2020 provincial election, the Electoral Boundaries Commission was required to redistribute seats.

Following the release of the final report, legislation was passed in 2023 to increase the number of seats in the British Columbia legislature from 87 to 93. These include four new constituencies in the Lower Mainland, one on Vancouver Island and one inland.

In addition, the boundaries of 72 ridings have been adjusted. 41 ridings had their names changed.
