Aiyuk from the 49ers is carted to the locker room against the Chiefs, Samuel is struggling with his illness

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk was carted to the locker room during Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering a blow to his right knee late in the second quarter.

He was officially ruled out for the remainder of the contest due to a knee injury early in the third quarter.

Aiyuk was on the field but was able to walk to the blue medical tent before finally being taken to the locker room.

The 26-year-old, who signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension last offseason, caught two passes for 23 yards before leaving the Chiefs game.

Deebo Samuel also went to the locker room in the first half against the Chiefs. It was announced before the game that he was suffering from an illness, but the versatile wideout was active at the start of the game. San Francisco is also missing Jauan Jennings, who is inactive with a hip injury.

Sunday's contest marked the NFL debut of wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, as the first-round rookie missed the first six games of the season after being shot during an attempted robbery on Aug. 31.

Tight end George Kittle led the 49ers with 28 receptions and five touchdown catches before Week 7. Jennings posted a team-high 404 receiving yards.
