attack

The Jets scored just 15 points and remained scoreless in the second half. They had no running game to speak of (54 yards) and their best passing plays were dump-offs to RB Breece Hall (6 catches, 103 yards).

QB Aaron Rodgers (24 of 39, 276 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs, 70 rating) wasn't very good and his interception before halftime changed the momentum of the game.

WR Garrett Wilson (5 catches, 61 yards) had a ball bounced off his chest for Rodgers' second interception. WR Davante Adams (3 catches, 30 yards) didn't have much of an impact in his first game.

defense

The Steelers rolled up 409 total yards, including 227 in the second half. The Jets didn't get any takeaways, and the defense seemed to weaken as the game went on and injuries mounted in the secondary.

CB Sauce Gardner had a costly pass interference penalty that resulted in the Steelers' score before halftime.

QB Russell Wilson (16 of 29, 264 yards, 2 TDS, 109 scoring) started slow but found a rhythm and hit a series of downfield passes to the Jets. WR George Pickens (5 catches, 111 yards, 1 TD) repeatedly killed the Jets.

Greg Zuerlein blocked a field goal in the third quarter that could have given the Jets some momentum. Kick returner Xavier Gipson fumbled two returns out of bounds.

Coaching

Interim coach Jeff Ulbrich said the Jets didn't handle adversity well and Rodgers said the team lacked energy. Both are a burden for the new head coach.

The Jets played another error-filled game and look nothing like the team everyone expected.

Todd Downing came off the run too early and the Jets looked much the same as they did before Woody Johnson's big coaching shakeup.
