60 Minutes is finally breaking its silence after Trump accused the show of “fraudulent editing” of the Harris interview

CBS News has finally broken its silence on Donald Trump's accusation that he manipulated some of Kamala Harris' answers through “fraudulent editing.” 60 minutes Interview.

“Former President Donald Trump is impeaching 60 minutes the fraudulent editing of our Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris,” the show said in a statement on Sunday. “That’s wrong.”

It continued: “60 minutes gave an excerpt from our interview Face the nation that used a longer section of her answer than this 60 minutes. Same question. Same answer.”

The statement continued: “But another part of the answer. When we edit interviews, be it with politicians, athletes or movie stars, we make sure to be clear, precise and to the point. The part of her answer to 60 minutes was more concise, which leaves time for other topics in a wide-ranging 21-minute segment.”

Trump and his allies attacked Harris and the network after her Oct. 7 interview, focusing on two clips in which Bill Whitaker questioned the vice president about U.S. relations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

A nearly two and a half minute teaser clip of Harris' interview was shown on Face the nation on October 6, one day before the full interview aired.

Harris' answer lasted almost a minute in this clip, but was reduced to a single sentence in the following 60 minutes Broadcast the following day. Whitaker's question was also shorter than the Oct. 6 clip, according to a fact-checking website Snopes.

The former president – who was accused of dodging an offer to meet with him 60 minutes – has repeatedly teased the interview in Truth Social posts and media appearances in recent weeks.

“In normal times, what happened at 60 Minutes (where they deceptively 'manipulated' their answers) would be the end of any campaign!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday.

On Friday, the former president told the podcast host The Dan Bongino Show that “I think I’m actually going to sue them.”

Immediately after the fallout 60 minutes angered Trump for canceling his own scheduled interview with the former president, before reiterating that the offer still stands. The Trump campaign denies that he officially committed to the interview.

“Remember that Mr. Trump withdrew from his interview 60 minutes and the Vice President attended,” it continued.

“Our longstanding invitation to former President Trump remains open. If he wants to talk about the nation's problems and the Harris interview, we'd be happy to have him 60 minutes.”

On Sunday, the former president went further, telling Fox News MediaBuzz he would “subpoena their records” and demand that the station’s FCC license be revoked.

“You take out the whole ridiculous answer, and it was a long answer, and replace it with a much shorter answer on a completely different topic that also made no sense,” Trump said.
