Lots of sunshine is forecast for this weekend! Get out and enjoy the fall activities!!

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – We're in for a nice weekend weather-wise as we continue to see widespread sunshine and above-average temperatures.

A strong high pressure system is once again in control of much of the weather across the eastern United States, as we can see on satellite and radar equipment that there are no clouds from the East Coast to the west side of the Mississippi! This means we will continue to experience plenty of sunshine and dry weather throughout the weekend and well into the coming working week.

If you have morning plans, you may need a light jacket or sweater as temperatures will be somewhat chilly in the upper 30s to low 40s with clear skies. Skies continue to be clear and sunny today, with temperatures rising to the upper 60s and lower 70s Saturday. Overall, a fantastic day to check a few fall activities off your fall list, like picking apples or seeing fall leaves.

This evening temperatures will drop back into the 40s. So if you have plans for the evening or want to go to the homecoming game tonight, be sure to bring the jacket as it could get chilly again tonight.

More sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures are forecast for Sunday. We'll start the day similar to today with cool conditions and gradually warm up to the low to mid 70s with plenty of sunshine! Typically temperatures this time of year are in the upper 50s to low 60s, but not this year, we will stay in the 70s until at least Tuesday next week.

A cold front brings an end to the late summer warmth as scattered showers are possible here and there Wednesday morning, not too heavy but enough to require the windshield wipers on the morning commute. After the cold front passes, temperatures will fall back closer to normal in the upper 50s to lower 60s with some clouds.
