HOUSTON – Authorities in northeast Houston are investigating what caused an abandoned home to catch fire after it became heavily engulfed in flames.

The Houston Fire Department was called to a home at Romea Street and Wayside Drive on 610 just after 1 a.m.

Investigators believe the home was abandoned, but when they arrived they saw it was completely engulfed in flames. Firefighters also said they faced problems with water supply and were forced to bring in water tankers to bring the situation under control.

No injuries were reported and it is unclear what caused the fire, but the investigation is ongoing.
