SeatGeek and Utah Hockey Club announce ticketing partnership

SeatGeek has announced a partnership with the National Hockey League's newest team, the Utah Hockey Club, to manage ticket sales for the franchise's inaugural season. As the official ticketing partner, SeatGeek will provide ticketing solutions for all home games at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

The partnership marks SeatGeek's second NHL client after the Florida Panthers and expands on its existing relationship with Smith Entertainment Group (SEG), which also owns NBA team Utah Jazz. Utah previously existed as a franchise of the Phoenix Coyotes, although the team's name and history do not align with the organization as it moves north to Salt Lake City.

“Professional sports bring communities together, and as we work toward an accelerated launch of the Utah Hockey Club, we remain committed to our goal of creating an unparalleled fan experience,” said Chris Barney, president of revenue and commercial strategy at Smith Entertainment Group. “Our partnership with SeatGeek underscores our shared vision of innovation and putting fans at the center of every decision we make.”

Using SeatGeek's SaaS platform Unify, the Utah Hockey Club was able to quickly organize events and manage ticket deposits, resulting in an outstanding milestone of 32,000 deposits in just 30 days. SeatGeek's platform goes beyond ticket sales, providing partners with tools to optimize inventory and increase fan engagement.

“This partnership is an exciting milestone for SeatGeek as we expand our presence in the NHL with the addition of the Utah Hockey Club,” said Russ D'Souza, co-founder and president of supply at SeatGeek. “We look forward to leveraging our technology to enhance the fan experience and support their operational success.”

SeatGeek continues to expand its portfolio and works with six NFL teams, three NBA teams, two NHL teams and several clubs from Major League Soccer, the National Women's Soccer League and the English Premier League.
