Lamar Jackson: I'm following something, so every game will be the same

Big plays from Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson are nothing new, but Monday night's performance in Tampa still drew enthusiastic reactions from his team.

Jackson threw five touchdowns in the 41-31 win and added a wrinkle to his game by throwing a block that helped running back Derrick Henry break off a 31-yard run in the second half. Head coach John Harbaugh said Jackson will “go down in history.” Monday Night Football” while Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton compared the quarterback to LeBron James. Henry said he has a “wow moment” every time he hears Jackson and tight end Mark Andrews, who scored two touchdowns on Monday, calling his teammate the league's MVP.

Jackson was less effusive when it came to his own performance. Jackson, who is now the betting favorite to win MVP, said the game is part of the standard he has set for himself as he pursues his first Super Bowl.

“I'm looking for something right now, so every game will be the same for me,” Jackson said in a team transcript. “I will be the same person. I try to win every game.”

The Ravens have won five straight and are tied with the Commanders for the most points in the league through the first seven weeks. So the team is running at full speed as we approach the halfway point of the season. The key to Jackson achieving his goal will be for him and the team to stay at the same level come January.
