Bodybuilder “grabs rival fitness guru by the neck and pushes him to the ground” after a clash at the gym in a viral video

TWO major fitness influencers were involved in a nasty collision which was caught on video at a gym.

Fitness gurus Jeff Nippard and Mike Van Wyck faced off in a heated confrontation that has since gone viral on social media.

Nippard is known for his science-based approach to bodybuilding, as the Canadian social star boasts 5.8 MILLION Subscribers on YouTube.

Van Wyck's training content has helped him gain over 289,000 Instagram followers.

The pair appeared to clash at a Pure Muscle and Fitness gym in Canada. A video showed Van Wyck violently grabbing Nippard by the neck and pushing him to the ground.

The change was believed to be due to a video posted on social media by Van Wyck titled “Science-Based Scams.”

In the video, Van Wyck criticized: “Scientists have to answer this question above all else – why do you remain so mediocre even though you know so much?”

Nipping later responded to this video with his own opinion on his Instagram page.

And he has since given his version of events at the gym in a separate post after uploading a picture of himself in a hospital using a CT scanner.

He wrote: “If you have seen the video by now, I would like to clarify the incident. First, I just want to let you know that I had a CT scan and I’m fine.”

“In case you didn’t see it, that’s exactly what happened and there were a lot of witnesses. Mike Van Wyck shoved me in the throat twice in the middle of the gym and then pushed my cameraman.”

“There's already a lie going around that Mike asked me to stay away from him and that I didn't listen and reach out to him first. This is WRONG and @puremuscleandfitness has security footage to prove it. I think they should publish it.”

Nipping further claimed that the incident occurred after the couple had an exchange at the gym with Van Wyck, who also “shoved his videographer into a cable machine.”

He added: “I don't know why he attacked me other than he really, really hates my training style.”

“I gave him absolutely no reason to hate me. And even if you do, there is no excuse for physically attacking someone over a disagreement.”

“In my opinion, it was the result of the anger I had aroused over the clip I posted yesterday in response to his question about science-based education. Pretty wild stuff.”

Gym Pure Muscle and Fitness has also released its own statement since the incident, apparently claiming Van Wyck has been banned from the premises.

It said: “At Pure Muscle + Fitness we have a strict zero tolerance policy towards violence and bullying.”

“We are deeply saddened by a recent incident involving unacceptable behavior by a member.

“This individual was not employed by or formally affiliated with our gym, and we have permanently revoked his access to our facility, including all privileges to train clients.”

“Our thoughts are with the affected members and we fully support their well-being.”

“The safety of our community is our top priority and we are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for everyone.”

“The matter is currently being investigated by the police and we are cooperating fully with the authorities.”
