“The Detroit Lions are prepared to not have Jameson Williams”.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell was unable to comment on specifics during his appearance on Costa and Jansen with Heather Show on 97.1 The Ticket on Tuesday, but did acknowledge the looming suspension of wide receiver Jameson Williams.

Williams, who is in the midst of a breakout season, faces a two-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances (PES), ESPN's Eric Woodyard reported Monday night.

“I can’t really say anything about it,” Campbell said on The Ticket. “Until the league makes a judgment and decides in their favor, I shouldn’t really comment on it. All I can tell you is that we are willing to not have him and we will be fine. That's why we have.” I have Leaf (Calif Raymond) and Saint (Amon-Ra St. Brown) and (Sam) LaPorta and TP (Tim Patrick) and Allen Robinson, among others with (running backs) David Montgomery (and) ( Jahmyr) Gibbs .

“We'll be fine, we'll keep going. (If) this thing comes down – if it does – if it comes down, we’ll be fine.”

It is not yet known what Williams tested positive for. However, per the NFL's PES policy, if a player tests positive for a stimulant, diuretic or masking agent, a two-game suspension will be imposed.

Williams has proven valuable this season in stretching the field, hauling in 17 receptions for 361 yards and three touchdowns. His yards per reception of 21.2 ranks second in the NFL behind Indianapolis receiver Alec Pierce (25.3).

The Lions, coming off a big win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 7, are scheduled to play at home against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday and at the Green Bay Packers on November 3.
