Jenna Fischer reveals why 'Office' co-star Angela Kinsey is her lifelong best friend

For Jenna Fischer, breast cancer was a private medical issue that she didn't want the world to know about until she was ready. Her best friend is there and Office Co-star Angela Kinsey helped save the day. The women's strong bond goes beyond Pam Beesly and Angela Martin of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Fischer shared why her best friend means so much to her, especially at a time when she was feeling her most vulnerable. Kinsey promised to keep her diagnosis a secret for as long as her friend needed. “From the beginning, she said, ‘Whatever you need. Tell me I'm here.' And I said, “I want to keep working, and I don't want anyone at work to know.” At work, I want this to be a space where we go and where we laugh, and I'm not a cancer patient. I need that.' And she said, 'Okay,'” Fischer said in an emotional interview on Today on Monday, October 21st.

When Fischer began experiencing hair loss due to her chemotherapy treatments, Kinsey took a big step. “And when I started losing my hair, I wore my hats in such a way that my hair fell out. We called them 'wig hats,'” Fischer revealed. “And she started wearing hats to work so I wouldn’t be the only person in a work meeting wearing a hat.”

As Hoda Kotb acknowledged Kinsey's “lovemaking,” Fischer did her best to hold back her tears. She replied, “Yes – and it was amazing.” BFF love goes both ways as Kinsey wrote a sweet tribute to her friend on Instagram on October 9, the day she revealed her diagnosis to the world.

“If you're lucky in life, you find a friend who feels like home to you, and no matter what comes your way, you feel safe, you feel loved, you feel like everything is going to be okay. Jenna is that person for me. “I'm grateful every day to have her in my life, and the past year has only reminded me even more how lucky we are to have this friendship,” Kinsey wrote. She praised the 50-year-old actress for her “courage and grace” and celebrated her current “cancer-free” status. Kinsey added: “Jenna, I love you so much. Always there for you. Side by side.”

I love you!” The women support each other at every stage of life – it's a beautiful friendship that would even make Michael Scott cry.
