Brianna Chickenfry admitted dating a celebrity isn't good for your “mental” health before splitting from Zach Bryan

Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia admitted before her split from Zach Bryan that being romantically involved with a celebrity is not good for a person's “mental” health.

The Barstool Sports personality opened up about the difficulties of being in a relationship with the country singer on Tuesday's episode of the “Talk Tuah with Haliey Welch” podcast, which was filmed just days before Bryan announced their split.

“I think it's better for your mental state not to date someone famous,” she said. “That’s a lot.”

Earlier in the episode, LaPaglia explained that she once swore she would “never date someone famous,” saying that she “literally never wanted that and then it just happened.”

The 25-year-old media personality further said that she tries to ignore the numerous online rumors about her relationship at the time.

“The internet is crazy and there is nonsense and I never defend myself online,” she said. “So it’s kind of snowballing because I think it’s stupid to get in there.”

LaPaglia met the 28-year-old “Pink Skies” singer at the 2023 ACM Awards in Dallas in May, but their relationship didn't turn romantic until the influencer attended one of her now-ex's concerts.

“I went to one of his shows and then we did a podcast episode about the show. And then he DM’d me on Instagram,” she shared. “He slipped in the DMs.”

In a statement posted to his Instagram Story, Bryan wrote that he has “respect and love” for LaPaglia.

He admitted that he had “personally had an incredibly tough year and was dealing with some pretty tough things.”

“I thought it would be beneficial for both of us if we went different ways,” the musician added. “I am not perfect and never will be.”

However, LaPaglia claimed she was “blindsided” by her ex's announcement.

“I just woke up when Zach posted on his Instagram that we broke up and I had no idea that post was going to blow up,” she said in a YouTube video uploaded Tuesday. “He didn’t text me, he didn’t call me.”

LaPaglia said she had been “crying for five days straight” but didn't feel ready to reveal the details of their breakup.

A source told Page Six the former couple are “crazy about each other, but their relationship was always difficult” because Bryan's “lifestyle is not conducive to a serious relationship.”
