Pacers C out with calf injury against Pistons

DETROIT – The Pacers received some bad news late in the first quarter. Center James Wiseman, operating in the second session with usual backup Isaiah Jackson, who was sidelined with a groin strain, was hampered by a non-contact leg injury. The Pacers quickly ruled out Wiseman because of a calf injury.

He had to be helped off the floor and shortly afterwards he went to the locker room. He walked under his own power, but did so cautiously.

Wiseman, signed as a free agent by the Pistons this offseason, scored six points in less than five minutes before the injury.

Rookie Enrique Freeman replaced Wiseman in the rotation and played in place of Myles Turner in the second quarter.
