The Premier League's most famous father-son duos after Lebron James made NBA history

Lebron James and his son Bronny made history when they became the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game together as the Los Angeles Lakers opened their season against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Sons have often followed in fathers' footsteps in the Premier League over the years, although we have never seen two generations of the same family on the pitch at the same time.

But which family had the most iconic football legacy?

90min Take a look at some of the Premier League's most famous father-son duos.

Ian Wright had a great career at Arsenal – scoring 185 goals in 288 games for the north London side. He is the club's second all-time top scorer after Thierry Henry and won the league title with the Gunners in 1997/98.

After his stellar career, he watched his two sons – Shaun and Bradley – pursue professional careers in football. When Shaun won the Premier League Cup with Chelsea in 2005/06, he and his father actually became the first father-son duo to win the league.

Bradley's career in England was short, but his time at Manchester City is still remembered. He eventually moved to America and experienced significantly more success in the MLS.

Peter and Kasper Schmeichel

Peter Schmeichel was a magician between the sticks and ultimately set the standard for his son Kasper to eventually follow in his footsteps as title winners with Leicester City.

In his time, Peter was the best goalkeeper in the world – especially during his career at Manchester United. In the 1990s, he redefined the art of modern goalkeeping and opened the door for Kasper, who watched his father's outstanding achievements as a child.

They remain arguably the best father-son duo to ever play in the Premier League, having played almost 600 games between them.

Steve Bruce was a Manchester United icon in the 1990s, leading his team to three Premier League titles.

Steve was undoubtedly one of the greatest central defenders of his time and paved the way for his son Alex to fill big shoes. But Bruce Jr. made almost 50 appearances in the top flight – with Birmingham City and Hull City – and couldn't quite live up to his father's legacy.

Alex spent most of his otherwise respectable career in the Championship.
