Bronny James will soon begin splitting his time between the Los Angeles Lakers roster and the team's G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.

ESPN's Shams Charania and Dave McMenamin reported that James will travel to the Lakers game Oct. 28-November. 6 road trip, but then begins splitting time between Los Angeles and South Bay.

His father and teammate Lebron James said the decision will allow Bronny to continue to develop as a player.

“I’m just excited to see him continue to develop as a basketball player, whether it’s here with us or with the G League team, and he just keeps getting better and better,” LeBron James said, according to McMenamin and Charania. “His job is to put in the work and keep getting better, just like the rest of us. And we want to hold him accountable, and he will hold us accountable. And if we all do that, we will all get better because we are all a team. South Bay is a reflection of who we are.”

Bronny James made his NBA debut on October 22, playing three minutes, grabbing one rebound and going 0-2 from the floor.

He played alongside his father in the 110-103 victory, becoming the first father-son duo in NBA history to do so.

He will likely continue in a backup role for Los Angeles, but should get a starting opportunity with South Bay.
