How Barron Trump influenced Donald's presidential run — and helped him reach younger voters

Barron Trump, the brother whisperer?

Donald Trump's youngest son just started classes at NYU, but he made sure the former president reached some of his biggest audiences in the 2024 election cycle through the Republican candidate's appearances on podcasts aimed at Generation Z and Millennial Judge men.

The reserved 18-year-old was rarely seen during the election campaign. But his 78-year-old father has often blamed Barron for helping the elder Trump choose his podcast spots.

Trump recently did an interview with streamer Adin Ross and also appeared on “This Past Weekend with Theo Von,” “Flagrant” with comedian Andrew Schulz and the “PBD Podcast” with businessman Patrick Bet-David.

Trump's appearance with Von on August 20, which also discussed cocaine, was viewed 14 million times alone. The “Flagrant” appearance with Schulz on Oct. 9 had 6.2 million views as of Friday, while Trump's Oct. 17 meeting with Bet-David had a YouTube audience of 2.8 million.

The former president began the interview with Von, 44, by saying Barron told him about the Louisiana-born comedian: “Dad, he’s tall. He’s a really big one.”

The 45th president also appeared on Logan Paul's “Impaulsive” podcast in June (6.68 million views) and on Friday recorded an appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the most-listened-to podcast on Spotify.

Democratic candidate Kamala Harris' forays into the podcasting jungle have had less impressive results. On October 14, she recorded an interview with The Shade Room, which had just over 144,000 views as of Friday.

An eight-minute clip of her appearance on the popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” released on Oct. 6, had a relatively paltry 675,000 views as of Friday.

“Barron was very involved in recommending a series of podcasts that we should do,” Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller told the Politico podcast “Playbook Deep Dive” on Friday.

“I have to tell you, hats off to the young man. Every single recommendation he has received has proven to be absolute review gold that has broken the internet.”

Miller added: “If you look at the impact of podcasts or YouTube shows – non-traditional media – part of it is that you meet voters where they are.”

Trump has previously said that his son also enjoys advising him on political issues.

“It's a little too big. I'm telling you, he's tall, but he's good looking. And he really was a great student. And he likes politics. It’s kind of funny,” Trump told “Kayal and Company” on talk radio 1210 WPHT in Philadelphia in May.

“Sometimes he says to me, 'Dad, you have to do this,'” he continued.

Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt previously told The Post the campaign was focused on gaining media coverage through social media engagement and clip sharing.

“President Trump is very likable and everything he does is a viral moment, whether it's just walking into a Chick-Fil-A in Atlanta and meeting the young workers or at the tailgate of a football game in Iowa Flipping burgers,” she told April.

There have been calls on social media for Trump to appear on a women-oriented podcast.

“Red Scare” podcast hosts Dasha Nekrasova and Anna Khachiyan approached him at Bitcoin bar Pubkey in New York last month and asked him to come on their show — but the former president has yet to make a public statement known about the offer.
