19 fight series! Lerone Murphy beats Dan Ige at UFC 308

Lerone Murphy overcame the odds to defeat Dan Ige on his main card at UFC 308.

Ige landed a short left hook in the first round that sent Murphy to his knees. The Brit recovered well with his grappling and found his way back into the fight. Murphy won the second round handily, keeping Ige at bay and carrying him away with long jabs and kicks. A discouraged Ige listened to motivation from his corner between rounds and came out of the third round energized.

Round three was almost dead – even with the two fighters in neutral fighting positions. Ige appeared to have the edge until Murphy found himself in an advantageous position with seconds left and landed a series of punches that won him the fight.

With the win, Murphy extends his UFC win streak to eight and his overall win streak to 19. In his post-fight speech, Murphy called out No. 8 featherweight Josh Emmett, who still hasn't fought since knocking out Bryce Mitchell in December 2023.
