Sharks host Ducks in exciting preseason neighborhood game

The San Jose Sharks will face the Anaheim Ducks tonight at the SAP Center in a special preseason game. This game is not just any exhibition game, but the first ever Neighborhood gameto attract new fans to the sport and increase the Sharks’ reach in the community.

Neighborhood game: A unique fan experience

Doors open at 5 p.m., and fans are encouraged to arrive early to experience exclusive pregame activities. From 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., fans can enjoy interactive experiences with current Sharks players and alumni, adding even more excitement to the evening. In-game content will be used throughout the arena to celebrate various Bay Area communities, making fans feel even more connected to their hometown team.

The focus of this game is to introduce hockey to new audiences and it offers first-time visitors an incredible opportunity to experience Sharks hockey in an exciting and fan-friendly atmosphere.

New faces in the Sharks squad

Tonight's game will be the first opportunity for fans to see the Sharks' highly touted young player. Will Smiththe fourth pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, who will make his debut in teal at SAP Center. Smith headlines a group of young and new talent as the Sharks work through the preseason schedule and look to finalize the roster before the Oct. 10 home opener.

Tuesday marks the return of the legend Teal of Sharks Barclay Goodrow. And newly signed veteran Tyler Toffoli looks to maintain his presence in the lineup after scoring a goal in the Sharks' season opener on Sunday.

While preseason games don't factor into the standings, they are crucial to roster construction and give young talent a chance to impress. The Sharks are actively evaluating their roster and there are still a few spots up for grabs as they prepare for what promises to be an exciting season.
