Packers HC expresses “grave concern” over New Jordan Love injury

The Green Bay Packers are coming off a big win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and are 6-2 on the season with a final score of 30-27. Despite the win, the team could have a concerning issue with quarterback Jordan Love.

Love left the game after being shoved by a Jaguars defender in what appeared to be a largely harmless shoulder bump. However, after the bump, Love appeared to be in significant pain. He left the game and backup quarterback Malik Willis entered.

With a groin injury, love would be impossible. Now Packers head coach Matt LaFleur expressed a deeper concern about the new disease.

When speaking to reporters after the win, LaFleur explained that “obviously there is a lot of concern” about the groin injury Love is dealing with. The team will evaluate the quarterback more closely to determine the extent of the damage.

Interestingly, Love had gone into the blue medical tent at the start of the game, but came back out and rejoined the team. Although there was no injury report at this time and Love did not appear on the injury report, it could be that he was dealing with that groin injury early in the game.

This is just speculation, but the push Love took should not have caused him to injure his groin to the point where he had to forfeit the game. Then again, perhaps there was a force behind that push that wasn't apparent to those just watching the game.

What makes this situation worrisome is the fact that LaFleur had to speak about hurting love in a more dramatic way. It appears there is something going on with the quarterback that may not be known at this point.

The loss of Love will be difficult to swallow as the Packers try to compete in the tough NFC North division. Each team has a positive record and the Packers are one loss behind the division-leading Detroit Lions, who are currently 6-1 on the season.

The Minnesota Vikings are also right behind the Packers with a 5-2 record. The entire division could find its way into the playoffs if things continue at this pace. Still, the Packers are fighting for the division title.

The Packers face the Lions on Sunday and then have a much-needed bye week. If Love is sidelined in Week 9, he may be able to recover in time to return to the team in Week 11 when they face the Chicago Bears.
