Saweetie dances alongside the SDSU Diamonds during her alma mater's homecoming

Saweetie returned to her alma mater, San Diego State University, to dance with the Diamonds majorette team, as she had previously done at homecoming. While performing her breakout hit “Icy,” she and the rest of the crew performed her routine, which had fans on social media praising her for returning to celebrate with her college.

One fan said: “She is doing so well. Educated, paid and pretty. What a combination,” while someone else said, “I know it's come full circle for her and all the other Alumni Diamond Sisters who dance with her!!!” I'm so happy for her.” She was joined the original members of her majorette troupe.

Saweetie has been booked and busy lately. In honor of the MLB World Series, she was featured in a pre-show commercial showing her allegiance to California and representing the Los Angeles Dodgers in search of another banner. They are currently 2-0 up against the New York Yankees.

Although Saweetie grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, she spends most of her time in Los Angeles. Most fans applauded her for representing the legendary baseball team, but others were hurt that she seemingly turned against the San Francisco Giants. Still, Saweetie is a brand favorite.

There has long been a rumor that Saweetie's career was a product of nepotism. Earlier this year, after a guest appearance on Lil Yachty's “A Safe Place Podcast,” she pushed to set things straight, tweeting, “I hate the 'Nepo Baby' narrative.” It spits in the face of the child who barely has time with his parents because they were too busy trying to make ends meet. Also, I believe that Saweetie the college girl would have had her “wealthy family” pay for her tuition and meals so she could enjoy the social experience of college instead of working four jobs to support herself.”

She later continued the post and shared, “When I say I'm privileged, she ignores the girl who risked her safety by renting rooms on Craigslist because she believed in herself enough “To stay in an expensive city while everyone else told her to move home because it was safe and a better 'financial option'.”

Even though she has connections to some celebrities through her family, she has always been adamant about her personal journey and the work she put in to get where she wanted to be is documented.
