The 49ers prevent the Cowboys from making a comeback in the fourth quarter and return to the winning list

Week 8 was National Tight End Day in the NFL and many at the position had plenty of time to help their teams win.

San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle also joined in on the fun.

Kittle totaled 128 yards on six catches and one touchdown to help San Fran to a 30-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football.” But it wasn't as easy as it initially seemed for San Francisco.

This game wasn't all 49ers early on, as the Cowboys found the end zone first. It was Ezekiel Elliott who broke the plane from a yard out to make it 7-3 early in the second quarter, and they would extend that lead to as many as seven points after a turnover on 49ers downs led to a Brandon Aubrey field goal.

But the second half was a completely different beast for these two teams from the start, as the 49ers were finally able to find the paint themselves after just five plays when Isaac Guerendo scored from four yards out on the ground after coming in for the goal injured Jordan Mason.

Then things started to fall apart for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys when the veteran quarterback attempted to throw a pass to CeeDee Lamb down the left sideline. However, Deommodore Lenoir jumped forward and intercepted the ball, keeping his body in check and immediately giving the ball back to Brock Prudy and the offense.

Purdy used his legs to scramble and pick up a key first down to put the 49ers in first, then cashed in with a touchdown pass to Kittle to make it 20-10 as San Francisco began to create a gap .

The lead was blown after Dallas was forced into a three-and-out, with Purdy sneaking the ball at the line of scrimmage for the two-yard running touchdown. At 27-10, this game seemed out of reach given how the second half was going.

However, the Cowboys knew they were out of luck in this building, and after suffering a loss at home to the Detroit Lions last week, they struggled to get back into the game.

They did so midway through the fourth quarter when Lamb, who had a game-high 146 yards on 13 catches, scored twice on consecutive drives, cutting the 49ers' lead to 30–24 with 3:31 to play.

The Cowboys got the ball back after forcing a punt, giving Prescott and the offense a chance for a potentially game-winning drive until an extra point attempt.

However, Prescott was incomplete on all four of his pass attempts, including one where the Cowboys wanted a pass interference call on fourth-and-10 but the officials kept the yellow laundry in their pockets.

Prescott finished the game 25 of 38 for 243 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
