After DEI's remark, Trump supporter Dr. Putting Phil in his place with a sharp one-liner

As one of the keynote speakers at Donald Trump's racially-charged MAGA rally at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Phil McGraw – known as “Dr. Phil,” a TV consultant, railed against diversity, equity and inclusion.

He suggested that Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris was chosen because of her skin color after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race.

McGraw pointed to the name of his production company, Merit Street Media, with pride — and a surprising lack of self-awareness.

“By the way, we didn’t choose the name for this by chance – Merit Street Media,” he said. “This country was built on hard work, value and talent, not equal outcomes, not DEI. This country was built through hard work.”

To which Twitter person did he tweet, “Isn't he only famous because of a black woman?”

McGraw began his television career as a guest on The Opra Winfrey Show. Winfrey is, of course, a strong supporter of Harris and recently hosted a virtual town hall event for her. Ironically, McGraw attacked stars like Winfrey – without mentioning her name. Was that intentional?

“You’re not stupid,” he told the crowd. “You don’t have to be told what to think. You just need the facts, and you're here because you have the facts, right? You are here because you realize that legacy media edits the answers and gives you what they want to tell you instead of the truth, and when they start editing their candidates' answers, they have lost their moral compass.

“You are lost. And I'd like to say it's the same on both sides, but I guarantee you, if Beyoncé, George Clooney, De Niro and Lizzo come out and say they're for Kamala Harris…have you read or heard anything? Does the media criticize this? No, but watch what happens tomorrow morning when people find out I came here to talk to you. If you say that in Hollywood, you suddenly don't have a job anymore. The problem is, I don’t need one.”
