Amazon Prime members will receive these 28 free games in October

Amazon has unveiled the next set of PC games coming to its Prime Gaming service, and subscribers can look forward to a total of 28 games in October.

As a reminder, once you claim Prime Gaming's free games, you can keep them forever – even if your subscription expires. If you're not a member, you can sign up for as little as one month of Amazon Prime to enjoy the benefits of the subscription and score great free gifts.

The first games are available now and offer a solid selection of action, puzzles and musical fun. Highlights here include No Straight Roads, a rhythm-action game where you fight the good fight against an evil EDM empire, the over-the-top brutality of Doom Eternal, and the multiplayer fun of paranormal destruction in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. Would you also please check out BioShock Remastered for a new tour of Rapture?

Starting October 17th, you'll be able to add five more games to your library, although there aren't too many notable titles here. Since it's horror season, Killing Floor 2 is a wild option to consider if you're feeling a digital bloodlust, while the Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Ghoul Patrol double-pack is a 16-bit blast from the past, which you can save people from undead, chainsaw-wielding killers, mummies and other scary monsters.

With October 24th around the corner, things are about to get spookier with this wave of games. The scariest thing here is Stasis: Bone Totem, an unsettling and atmospheric underwater adventure with classic point-and-click gameplay. Gargoyles Remastered is a revival of the classic 16-bit platformer from the '90s with improved graphics, and The Gunk is a more relaxed story about a pair of opportunists cleaning up a planet infected with parasitic filth.

Finally, October 31st ends the month with a bang. One of the best indie games of 2021, Death's Door is an isometric action-adventure in which you slip into a mysterious world as an adorable crow armed with a sword. Scorn has a few flaws in its design, but when it comes to gross-out looks that would make HR Giger proud, it's in a class of its own. There is also A Plague Tale: Innocence, an incredible story with too many rats and the cheeky Pokémon-like Coromon to close the month.
