Andrew Van Ginkel from the Vikings gets the second pick-six of the season

Andrew Van Ginkel is incredible. The Vikings outside linebacker, who had a pick-six against Daniel Jones in Week 1, got another pick-six on Sunday when he grabbed a short throw from Aaron Rodgers and raced 63 yards for a score. It was a great play that gave Minnesota a 10-0 lead against the Jets in London late in the first quarter.

The confusion of Brian Flores' defense struck again as Van Ginkel lined up at the line of scrimmage before dropping into coverage and picking off Rodgers. From there, he simply used his athleticism to make it to the house, fending off a key block from teammate Harrison Smith along the way.

It's AVG's third pick-six in his last 11 games, having had one last December when he was with the Dolphins. It's just what he does.

The Vikings' 2024 free agent class has been absolutely crucial to their 4-0 start to this season, which they hope to turn into 5-0 today. Sam Darnold and Aaron Jones are getting a lot of attention, but Van Ginkel is one of several new defensive players playing phenomenal football early in the year. The 29-year-old Van Ginkel, who signed a two-year, $20 million contract this spring, has immediately established himself as the perfect starter in Flores' system. In addition to the pair of pick-sixes, he also has three sacks.

Van Ginkel was selected by the Dolphins in the fifth round out of Wisconsin in 2019.

The Vikings led 10-0 at the end of the first quarter of that game in London. Follow here for updates.
