The Ghana Football Association confirmed on Monday evening that Thomas Partey will be unable to join his team for the October international break “due to medical issues he is currently dealing with”.

Charles Watts reports that he assumed the withdrawal was precautionary as Partey was suffering from an illness. It was agreed that he should remain in London to recuperate rather than travel extensively.

Kai Havertz also recently withdrew from the Germany national team, although the decision was again a precautionary measure.

Watts reported that the feeling was that the injury was nothing to worry about. Havertz was able to finish the game against Southampton, but Arsenal didn't want to take any chances.

Given the number of minutes Havertz has played recently, the Gunners felt it was best if he stayed, rested and was monitored by the club.

Jurrien Timber, Kieran Tierney, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Martin Odegaard will also miss the international break due to injury, although none of them were called up from the start.

For those involved, we've put together a fixture list for the 11 remaining players still on international duty this month.
